Daniel Shea - Blisner, IL
Colour Monograph, 18 x 25 cm portrait
First Edition, September 2014
with an essay by Walter Benn Michaels
Published by fourteen-nineteen
Blisner, IL is both a new edition and a pseudo-sequel to Blisner, Ill. - a self-published photobook by Daniel Shea exploring processes of deindustrialisation in the Rust Belt of America.
This new edition will still explore the industrial history and post-industrial fallout of the once prosperous Southern Illinois town, but will frame its predecessor, Blisner, Ill., as a historical document from which to draw information at the present day site. Blisner, IL will contain expanded and new work.
Blisner, IL was launched with an exhibition at Webber, which you can see archived here.
